In 2015, a record number of warehouses had periodic safety inspections carried out. This reports BMWT, which guarantees the quality of safety inspections through the quality mark BMWT-Keur. Last year, 242,000 inspections took place, an increase of 8 per cent compared to the previous year.

Increase due to economic growth
According to director Jan Hommes, it is clear to see that employers increasingly value safe machines. "They are willing to invest in periodic maintenance and inspections for this. The improved economic climate has undoubtedly contributed to the growth in the number of inspections. Fortunately, we also see that in difficult times, the number of inspections remains up to par."

All product categories showed growth, with double-digit figures in the racking and traction battery and charger segments. Of the total number of inspections, 216,000 took place in the Intralogistics category (internal transport, traction batteries and warehouse racking). The Earthmoving and Construction Equipment sector (earthmoving, road construction, construction & utility equipment, lifting equipment and hoisting machines) accounted for the remaining 26,000 inspections.
