MP Ton Elias wants a better approach in the field of unnecessary regulatory pressure in aviation. The VVD member made this clear in the debate with the state secretary for infrastructure.
After the debate, the state secretary promised to carry out a quick scan to gain more insight into the regulatory burden. Actal, the watchdog for regulatory burden, will cooperate. In a reaction to the proposal, EVO Fenedex stated that the regulatory burden is indeed still too high. At an earlier stage, efforts were made to reduce the regulatory burden in cooperation with representatives of service providers from all modalities. This reduction was successful at the time, but there would still be issues in the air cargo chain that have not been fully resolved.
Especially the rates and inefficiency of inspection services could still be polished. EVO Fenedex wants to achieve affordable and constructive inspection in logistics and trade in the coming years and has asked the cabinet to focus on this.
NVWA on its toes
During the debate, the work of inspectorate NVWA was also discussed. According to the state secretary, this is mainly due to a lack of money. NVWA is only narrowly meeting its targets and could do a better job if more money were available, but there is none. As a result, no extra boost can be given to the inspectorate.
