RFS Holding, the parent group of Wehkamp incurred a loss of 21 million euros in the 2015/2016 broken financial year. The transition to Wehkamp's new distribution centre is said to have been quite costly.
Wehkamp opened the automated distribution centre in Zwolle in September 2015. During the transition, the old location in Dedemsvaart remained open for another six months, so two dsitribution centres were running simultaneously. Millions of products had to be moved and that was quite an operation. "Consumers often had their orders delivered in two packages during the period: one from one of the old warehouses in Dedemsvaart and one from the DC in Zwolle," Andres van Daalen, programme director of RFS Holland, said about this earlier. An expensive joke, as DHL was paid per parcel.

Excluding these one-off costs, operating profit came to 44 million euros, down one and a half million euros from the previous year. It did show a six per cent increase in sales to 750 million euros. Wehkamp accounted for three-quarters of that revenue.
