Rituals is going to leave the fulfilment of online orders to the physical shops abroad. Now, online orders are still sent to foreign consumers from the distribution centre in the Netherlands.
Because of this method of delivery, it takes five days before a parcel is delivered. Rituals wants to shorten this shipping time considerably by shipping from the physical branches.During the event 'Whats going on in Retailing', supply chain director Mark Hoppenbrouwers revealed that an online order can be shipped this way for less than a tenner, Twinklemagazine writes.
Rituals plans to start shipping this way for the first time in Switzerland and Norway. Orders there will be delivered to your home the next day. In the United States, Rituals is already familiar with fulfilment from shops. The branches there are set up as mini-warehouses. There, the retailer eventually wants to introduce same-day delivery.
