Franchise formula Kwalitaria and logistics service provider HAVI Logistics have ended their collaboration. Only three months ago, the two parties partnered with each other.
So reports FFC, Kwalitaria's formula house, in a press release. Earlier this year, FFC dissolved its partnership with Bidfood to switch to HAVI. According to FFC, however, it turned out that HAVI's logistics set-up did not sufficiently fit Kwalitaria's franchise model.
Insufficient connection
"Our organisation operates from a product leadership strategy," said Bas Holshuijsen, general manager FFC. "The large number of high-quality private labels and limited residual assortment allows us to opt for a unique model in the market: our fixed assortment in stock at logistics provider HAVI Logistics and cross-dock items via Sligro. Unfortunately, after a three-month period, we have to conclude that this model does not sufficiently fit Kwalitaria's franchise model. We have therefore decided in joint consultation with HAVI to terminate the cooperation."
Joint decision
HAVI moved into a new distribution centre in Barendrecht earlier this year with a view to future growth. That proved to be a wise move; a few months later, it expanded its collaboration with Van der Valk, bringing in KFC and Kwalitaria as customers.
The logistics service provider acknowledges that it could not support Kwalitaria in the right way after all. "After all, FFC/Kwalitaria has different characteristics from our other customers and we cannot help FFC/Kwalitaria sufficiently in this. We have come to that conclusion together. It's very unfortunate but in a partnership you also have to dare to draw this conclusion," states Olav Gribnau, managing director HAVI Logistics.
