A growing return flow poses new challenges for more and more logistics companies. The demand for smart and affordable solutions is increasing. On the exhibition floor of Logistica 2017, the Scala Store shows how efficient inbound goods and optimal return logistics can be realised.
E-logistics is booming. More and more goods are ordered online. It's easy, fast and you don't have to leave your doorstep anymore. However, there is also a downside to the success story. With the increasing number of internet orders, return logistics is also on the rise. The Scala Store is all about warehousing, with a strong focus on return logistics.
Semiautomatic container unloading
Mechanised solutions will be used to a large extent for inbound goods during the demonstration. For example, a semi-automatic system will be shown to unload containers - loaded with loose goods - quickly and without physical strain.
Multifunctional data registration
For fast and error-free processing of return flows, one of the exhibits will be a multifunctional system that scans returned goods on all sides. The system also makes - without affecting the speed of the process - a volume calculation as well as a colour photo, after which all information about the returns is automatically stored.
Ergonomic and safe
It also shows how return processes are simplified with an ergonomic work table. With all necessary resources at within easy reach, walking is reduced. An ergonomic layout of the station ensures that the employee does not get tired, which means the work is carried out in minimum time.
Safety during the processes shown is ensured by, among other things, flexible collision guards and a safety tilt gate.
Expert commentary
The demonstrations on the Scalas last about 20 minutes each and are repeated every hour. An expert consultant from the VeLa (Association of Logistics Advisors) provides commentary on each demonstration. From the demo area, fair visitors have a good view of the simulated warehouse situation. Moreover, the processes demonstrated are shown in close-up on large screens. Of course, after each demonstration there will be plenty of time to discuss the demonstrated (sub)processes in more detail.
Participating suppliers: Ambaflex, A-Safe, Hovuma Warehouse Systems, Cartonmover/Pewisys, Euroroll, EVC (Packaging), Haagh Protection, Still Intern Transport, Stow Netherlands, Halo-Intra, TAWI, Datalogic and VeLa.
