Truck manufacturer Scania has moved to a new logistics centre in Zwolle. From the new site, all Scania sites in Europe and South America will be supplied.
The distribution centre opened yesterday covers an area of 12,000 square metres and is located near the Scania factory. The new building will employ 100 to 120 people. These employees were previously largely employed at Scania's warehouse in Staphorst, which had to close its doors due to the move to Zwolle.
Scania Logistics Netherlands, Scania's logistics service provider, was founded seven years ago to properly organise incoming and outgoing goods flows. Zwolle is a strategic location for the new distribution centre, as most parts and kits are shipped worldwide from the Zwolle plant. The plant has a production capacity of some 170 trucks per day.
