Amsterdam is to conduct an experiment in Ferdinand Bolstraat with a clean, quiet and safe supply system. D66, entrepreneurs and the transport sector are going to ensure this together.

As Ferdinand Bolstraat will become a car-free street, the supply of shops will take place via the side streets. This leads to traffic congestion and inconvenience. The clean supply pilot should reduce this nuisance.

More efficient transport
No later than 1 January 2016, the alderman for traffic and transport will come up with a plan. This will include clean and quiet vehicles in the form of electric or hybrid delivery vans. Greater efforts will also be made to bundle flows of goods. This will help reduce the number of large trucks and vans. "Many lorries and vans now drive their orders around with half-empty cars. We need to ensure more efficient transport," said D66 councillor Jan-Bert Vroege.
