ViriCiti, an online platform that boosts the performance of commercial electric vehicles, receives 700,000 euros in growth funding. The start-up receives that amount from Mainport Innovation Fund II, comprising KLM, Schiphol, TU Delft, Port of Amsterdam and NS, and Breesaap Green Link.

According to the investment fund, comprising KLM, TU Delft Port of Amsterdam, NS and Breesaap Green Link, ViriCiti fits perfectly with the fund's ambition: to accelerate innovation in transport, logistics and aviation. "From our first meeting with the team, they impressed us with their knowledge of the industry and their ability to close deals with leading international players in the early days of a fast-growing market," said Thijs Gitmans, fund manager Mainport Innovation Fund II.

Cloud-based monitoring system
ViriCiti is developing a cloud-based monitoring system. This system collects large amounts of data from all kinds of electric vehicles. This information is then analysed and used by carriers, bus manufacturers and public transport organisations. The aim of the platform is to increase vehicle performance, make planning more accurate and improve vehicle reliability. The latter, for example, by helping with preventive maintenance.

Expanding even faster
The monitoring system is now used by carriers in 12 different countries, in Europe and the US. Players such as BYD, Schiphol Airport and Qbuzz are already using the platform. With the investment, ViriCiti aims to expand internationally even faster.
