STILL, specialist in intralogistics, has introduced an intelligent vehicle at the LogiMAT in Stuttgart that chases the driver after he gets out of the vehicle. The vehicle, named iGo Neo CX20, won an innovation prize during the fair.

The vehicle follows the warehouse worker the moment he gets off the truck and activates the system. The truck recognises the profile of its driver and follows him or her. The driver can then collect the orders, place them on the truck or pallet and make his round. Without further command, the vehicle follows the warehouse worker, making picking orders easier.

Time saved
The vehicle will save time by allowing the driver to get on the truck at all times and no longer have to walk there. The manufacturer expects a time saving of 30 per cent compared to a driver having to fetch his truck every time.

Safety first
Due to safety in the warehouse, the truck will always stay 50 centimetres from the warehouse racks. Should that distance, for example due to protruding goods, not be possible, the truck will stop. When the road is clear, the driver can give the command for the truck to move on. This is done by means of a button on the driver's sleeve strap.

More developments
STILL is developing more vehicles with robot technology. At the end of May, during the CeMAT in Hanover, the company would introduce more new innovations.
