Breathe new life into dead stock. That's the idea behind online B2B trading platform Stocklife. Companies in logistics can sell their dead or stagnant stock there.

The continuing pressure on the logistics chain is forcing the logistics sector and shippers to use space wisely, according to Stocklife's initiators. On the trading platform, logistics service providers and shippers can post their offers anonymously. Interested parties also bid anonymously. Stocklife then arranges transport between the two parties.

"As a haulier myself, I also see return shipments and their handling. These items often remain lying around and take up space," says Johan Senders, one of the platform's initiators. "There are huge opportunities here for companies if they can sell the products at a fair price. Stocklife makes this easy, allowing waste to be turned into revenue."

The platform is currently still under development. Together with logistics service providers, shippers and buyers, work is underway to launch Stocklife. The platform is expected to go live on 29 April.
