The Savoy Division, provider of automation solutions for warehouses and distribution centres, posted a 17 per cent increase in sales in 2016. The increase was said to be attributable to an expanded product range and entry into new markets.
The system integrator, part of Groupe Legris Industries, posted consolidated sales of 77 million euros last year with its brands INTELIS, A-SIS and PRODEX. According to Rémy Jeannin, President of the Savoy Division, three factors drove sales in 2017:
- Sales were already up in 2015 and this would have had an impact on the 2016 figures as well.
- The product range has been adjusted and expanded. This puts the Savoy Division in a better position to help companies boost logistics performance.
- Entry into new markets with high growth potential. "We are investing in new markets, such as the agri-food industry, frozen products and meat products. These sectors have matured and the need for productivity and high-quality order picking solutions is high here," Jeannin explains.
Savoy will continue to focus on growth in its key markets of Western Europe and Russia as well as new geographical markets such as Algeria and Australia. The distant markets will mainly be served through partner system integrators.
For 2017, the French company is again targeting double-digit growth. "We expect to grow further to a turnover of around 90 million euros," said Rémy Jeannin. According to the manager, this increase will largely be achieved with the further development of existing products and the development of new, innovative solutions. This is why Savoy invests 7 per cent of turnover in research and development every year. "In the coming months, we will introduce some product improvements, such as a broadening of the OMS and TMS software solutions and making all software products available as a SAAS solution. But we will also come up with some new innovative services, including a full range of training where face-to-face training can be combined with e-learning. In addition, we offer change management and supply chain management support."
