TGW has appointed David Hibbet as the new CEO of its Northern Europe division. Hibbet takes over from Andy Smith, who is stepping down from his duties as CEO after thirteen years and is taking up the position of Senior Vice President.
The new CEO of TGW Northern Europe has spent the last 20 years in various positions in intralogistics. In 2017, Hibbet started as managing director of the UK subsidiary TGW Limited. In his previous position, Hibbet was CSO (chief sales officer) for the Hub Northern Europe. This region includes the UK, branches in Benelux, Scandinavia and Lithuania.
On 1 July, Hibbet took office as CEO for TGW Northern Europe. He will fulfil a dual role as CEO and CSO in the coming years. With this dual role, TGW says it wants to ensure that the "successful developments of recent years continue to evolve in a positive direction". The new CEO will be in charge of more than 400 employees, including system designers, software developers, commissioning engineers and Lifetime Services specialists.
New assignments
Despite the corona crisis, TGW Northern Europe won major contracts in recent months. These included signing deals with Urban Outfitters in the UK and Picnic in the Netherlands. It was up to TGW to automate Picnic 's new distribution centre in Utrecht.
