TNT Innight's business units in the Netherlands and Belgium have been acquired by private equity firm SSVP. The parts will be owned by the German arm of Innight Express, which is part of SVP III. The new organisation operates as a night distribution specialist under the company name 'nox NightTimeExpress'.

The acquisition follows the transaction in July, in which SSVP acquired TNT Innight's operations in Germany and Austria from TNT and introduced the new brand 'nox NachtExpress'. Soon, the business units in the Netherlands and Belgium will adopt the new name 'nox NightTimeExpress'.

Improve service quality
The Dutch branch of TNT Innight accounts for a turnover of EUR 36 million with 450 customers. With the acquisition, the parties hope to establish a better service. "On the one hand, we want to exploit the synergy of our international network in terms of logistics and efficiency," says ceo Georg Kierdorf. "On the other hand, by consistently focusing on our local customers, we want to improve the quality of our service and thus also deliberately boost the attraction of new customers."

New management
Hans de Bruyne, former managing director for the Netherlands and Belgium has returned to TNT following the transaction. The new board consists of Georg Kierdorf and Dr Carsten Mehler, both of whom will also handle the Benelux operations.
