Spanish transport company Ontruck enters the Netherlands. Ontruck, which focuses on regional road transport of palletised goods, opens an office in Amsterdam.

After Spain, the UK and France, Ontruck is now expanding its road transport platform to the Netherlands. From the Amsterdam office, the technology company serves five Dutch cities: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Breda. In and around these cities, Ontruck offers shippers access to short- and medium-distance transport.

Carrier cooperation

In the run-up to the official launch, Ontruck says it has entered into partnerships with hundreds of transporters in the Netherlands, including both light vehicles such as vans and box trucks to trucks and trailers.

Inefficiency in transport

"Due to its technological development, strong existing freight transport infrastructure and a workforce with extensive knowledge of the freight sector and trade, the Netherlands is an ideal candidate for expansion," says Pjotr Horowitz, Ontruck's chief sales officer. "However, the Dutch sector still suffers from inefficiencies in short- and medium-distance transport. This is where Ontruck can add value and offer shippers an effective and smart alternative to properly manage the flow of goods."
