UPS is expanding its UPS Worldwide Express fast parcel service to 117 countries. The company guarantees next business day delivery on a shipment to any of these countries.
The latest delivery time depends on the destination. The times can be 10:30, 12:00 or 14:00 and determined per destination. UPS, by extending the service, is giving emerging countries the opportunity to deliver their products faster.
Express
UPS wants to enable customers to send parcels worldwide that need urgent delivery. This mainly involves deliveries that have a shelf life or cannot be waited for too long. Consumers and retailers also use the service.
Investment
The expansion of UPS's service is part of the company's substantial investment in Europe. Last year, the US company announced that it was investing 1 billion euros to expand its network in Germany and the rest of Europe. At the time, that money would go mainly to sorting centres and delivery points.
