VidaXL says it is building 'the largest distribution centre in the Netherlands' in Venlo. Still this month, the construction of the 100,000-square-metre distribution centre will start.

With the new distribution centre, the etailer will double its capacity in the Netherlands and believes it can deliver efficiently to surrounding European countries from Venlo. VidaXL operates in 29 countries.

VidaXL will also make the distribution centre available to third parties. This is because the online retailer not only sells its own products, but also provides a platform for third parties who want to sell their products through the website. VidaXL says it wants to control the entire chain from product development to shipping in this way. "This allows us to keep costs as low as possible," it says.

The new complex would create around 400 new jobs in the province of Limburg, both in logistics and customer service. By the end of this year, VidaXL plans to commission the distribution centre in Venlo. It will then also move operations from its current distribution centre in Venray to Venlo.
