Visbeen and Post-Kogeko are to merge. Their new company Daily Logistics Group (DLG) will immediately become a top-20 player in Dutch logistics services.
Visbeen Transport Group operates as a multimodal transporter of mainly temperature-controlled food products, while Post-Kogeko works as an all-round logistics service provider with a focus on conditioned food logistics.
The two family businesses had been working together for 20 years and call the merger a "logical step". "There is a solid foundation for this merger that takes place on the basis of equality. This means that family values and future-proofing remain guaranteed."
Labels remain
Under the company name Daily Logistics Group, the companies intend to retain and strengthen their existing labels. Under the labels Visbeen, Post-Kogeko and DailyFresh Logistics, the company provides national and international distribution, road transport of trailers and containers, multimodal and short sea transport. The Daily Logistics Group continues to develop quality solutions for multimodal transport of fresh, chilled and frozen products.
"By joining forces, we will offer our clients in the various markets a wider range, faster information and better service," says ceo Joost Visbeen.
Attractive employer
"Our combined 150 years of experience and combined knowledge of multimodal transport allows us to work more efficiently and increase our clout," explains cfo Harald Lourens. "The increase in scale provides opportunities to set up our routes, processes and systems more efficiently. Through the merger, we offer a broader and more diverse work package for drivers, both geographically and also in type of work. In a tight labour market, this makes us an attractive employer."
New management
The current director-major shareholders of Post-Kogeko and Visbeen, Dirk Post and Adrie Visbeen respectively, will retire from day-to-day management. Daily Logistics Group's new management board consists of Joost Visbeen as newly appointed ceo and Harald Lourens as cfo. In addition, Nicole Visbeen and Marcus Post will join the Management Team.
