Wehkamp is discontinuing its Belgian operations. The online retailer wants to focus entirely on the Netherlands.
This reports RetailNews.Wehkamp's Belgian webshop had been out of the air for major maintenance since the beginning of the year. However, the online retailer promised to return with a wider range and an improved webshop. It was said to be working hard on this behind the scenes. Belgian customers were also unable to order from the Dutch webshop.
Those plans for a return are now off the table. Speaking to RetailNews, a spokesperson stated that the focus will only be on customer experience in the Netherlands.
Disappointing results could be the reason behind its withdrawal from Belgium. When Wehkamp expanded into Belgium three years ago, parent company RFS Holland Holding still had ambitions to become a top-three player in the Belgian online market in the foreseeable future.
