XPO Logistics is to build a new distribution centre in Venlo. With a floor area of 60,000 square metres, it will be one of XPO Logistics' largest sites in the Netherlands.
The distribution centre will process the retail and consumer orders of various e-commerce fashion brands for all European markets. According to the logistics provider, Venlo is the ideal location for international fashion and e-commerce logistics. "Its location in the Netherlands offers good connectivity with international inbound and outbound flows and there are plenty of opportunities to expand. Moreover, the regional business dynamics, with a strong focus on model logistics, has a pull effect on people with talent and expertise," says Mauro Ungheretti, managing director of XPO Logistics for the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Earlier, XPO Logistics opened centres for the fashion and e-commerce sectors in Eindhoven and Tilburg.
The new site in Venlo is being built by Prologis and is expected to be fully operational in early 2018.
