Zalando in Belgium now brings the parcel to the customer's exact location. Geolocation allows the delivery driver to read the customer's GPS position and then drive there. The e-tailer collaborates with start-up Parcify for this purpose.
Zalando is testing the service in the cities of Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent. Participating customers can decide where and when their parcel should be delivered. That could be at work, but also in a park or on a terrace. The service is available seven days a week, from seven in the morning until midnight.
The delivery option is now only accessible to a test group. Orders from the test group will be taken to Parcify's distribution centre, after which the customer can specify where and when the order should be delivered.
Parcify was founded in 2015 in response to the growing problem of consumers not being at home on the first delivery attempt. Last year, bpost took a strategic stake in the company. Besides Zalando, Parcify is also working with bol.com. The Belgian start-up expects to start delivering in Amsterdam too in the not too distant future.
