In this series of videos, the finalists of Logistics Manager of the Year and Young Logistics Talent introduce themselves to the industry. What role do they fulfil within their organisation? And what is their feat in this election? This week: Hugo van Goor, DC Manager at Schneider Electric.
As DC Manager at Schneider Electric, Van Goor is responsible for the European distribution centres in Helmond and Wiehl, Germany (outsourced). He is also responsible for the regional DC in Venray, which handles distribution to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
At the beginning of 2016 - when Van Goor took charge of the Venray distribution centre - the DC Manager decided to bring the Venray and Helmond sites under one management. This has done the operation no favours: in terms of safety and quality, the DCs are currently among Schneider Electric's top.
Wondering who will be Logistic Manager of the Year 2017? Then come to Jaarbeurs Utrecht on 11 April. Register via the registration form.
