Amazon has confirmed its arrival in the Netherlands. Amazon.nl will become a full-fledged webshop with millions of products before the end of this year.
Amazon.nl has been in the air since 2014, but has only been selling e-books there since then. Other products can be bought from the German webshop. This will change this year; consumers can go to Amazon.nl for millions of physical products. Companies that want to sell products via Amazon.nl can contact the US giant.
Country manager Benelux Roeland Donker speaks of a first small step towards improving the Dutch customer experience. "We are convinced we can win the trust of the Dutch customer with a wide range, competitive prices and fast and reliable delivery."
The Dutch products will be delivered from a new distribution centre in Mönchengladbach, Germany, about 20 kilometres from the Dutch border. There, the company has Zalando as a neighbour.
