Logistics service provider DL Logistics Group hopes to get more women interested in logistics. With a video campaign, the company wants to show that the door is "wide open" for women.

DL notes that there are still many prejudices regarding women in logistics. "Women still often have the impression that we do heavy lifting on a daily basis," says Pieter Laban, owner of DL Logistics Group. "In addition, some men still think that women don't fit into logistics because they wouldn't be good at driving a forklift or truck. Nonsense of course, but it is what you hear around you."

No typical male jobs

In the coming years, the company expects to need staff in all kinds of positions, from planning to sales and packing. In doing so, it is deliberately looking for both men and women. "We do not have typical male positions in our company. Moreover, we would like to increase the proportion of women in the company, as this has been proven to create positive dynamics in the workplace and company culture."

Female employees have their say

In a video produced by the company, female employees talk about what working in logistics entails. It also makes vlogs about working in logistics, created by two female employees. "Women deserve to be put in the logistics spotlight. Logistics may still be a man's world now, but our door is wide open to change this."
