Electronic Commerce Solutions International (ECS) and UC Group have become the first international Implementation Partners of iSHARE. The two companies can now implement iSHARE for customers who want to share data securely.

iSHARE is a project of the Neutral Logistics Information Platform (NLIP), which enables companies in logistics to share data in a uniform and controlled way. Crucial in iSHARE is that the owner of the data decides what happens to it. It decides which data can and cannot be shared and who can and cannot receive that data.

As an example, project leader Mariane ter Veen previously mentioned inbound transport at distribution centres: "Usually, these distribution centres have no idea when a truck arrives. With iSHARE, a supplier can give its transporter the right to automatically share data about the expected arrival time with the distribution centre. If the carrier decides to hire a charter, it can 'delegate' that right, and thanks to the agreements made, the distribution centre can still trust that those data are actually about the supplier's cargo."

Appointment system implementation

The agreement system was established in early 2018. By joining hands with iSHARE, ECS and UC Group can help logistics customers implement the appointment system.

ECS is active in the field of Enterprise Application Integration and secure exchange of data over the internet. "iSHARE removes trust barriers to sharing data between different parties, while ECS removes the technical barriers that remain," says Ben van Rinkel, managing director of ECS international. "We stand for safe and easy data exchange. I am therefore pleased that with iSHARE we can help our customers exchange their data quickly and securely."

UC Group involved in development of iSHARE

UC Group has been involved in the development of the arrangement system since the beginning of the iSHARE project. The consultancy firm in operations & supply chain management issues believes iSHARE will enable it to optimise its services. "As UC Group, we want to lead by doing," said Pascal van Beek, Managing Director of UC Group.

"This is why we committed to the development of iSHARE from the beginning. With the agreement system, we can help our customers share information within a chain in a simple, practical way, bringing integral improvement of those chains another step closer."
