Next academic year, the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA) will start a Logistics study programme. Students can take the Associate degree, a two-year practical programme.

With the programme, the Hogeschool van Amsterdam wants to respond to an urgent need for qualified logistics professionals. The sector is facing a high replacement demand due to an ageing population. Moreover, technological developments are making increasing demands on logistics professionals.

Due to developments in the sector, such as home delivery and more customer-specific deliveries, logistics costs are rising. According to the HvA, this requires new solutions and a higher problem-solving capacity among logistics professionals.

The programme's concept has been positively assessed by the panel of the Nederlands Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie (NVAO). It is currently working on some indicated areas of improvement. The programme is scheduled to start in September 2021, both part-time and full-time.
