Jaarbeurs and the Stichting Logistiek Manager van het Jaar (Logistics Manager of the Year Foundation) have recently entered into a cooperation for the organisation of the event Logistiek Manager en Jong Logistiek Talent van het Jaar. "For the foundation board, this cooperation is an important step to take the event to the next level and make it future-proof," indicated chairman Ronald Leunisse.
Jaarbeurs has been active in the logistics field for many years with Logistica, ICT & Logistiek and LogistiekProfs.nl. "By combining knowledge sessions, networking and the festive election, Logistiek Manager van het Jaar is definitely a leading event. This fits in with our aim to create professional encounters throughout the year for the logistics manager," said Martijn de Weerd, brand manager Logistics at Jaarbeurs.
Together with evofenedex and the other partners, they are currently working on the programme for the event on 11 April. The theme 'Crossing borders' offers plenty of interesting angles that touch on everyday work.
Theme: 'Cross-border'
Cross-border is the norm today: in technology, in organisation and people. The difficulty lies in maintaining a balance between these three magnitudes. Often, modernistic systems do not work because people and organisation are insufficiently equipped to deal with them effectively. Or well-intentioned organisational changes become a failure because of a lack of supporting technology and participating people.
People are often a decisive factor, but especially in this cross-border world, this human factor is coming under pressure. New roles require new knowledge, attitudes and behaviour. Flexibility, adaptability, willingness to change, dealing with new norms and values, and ethical frameworks.
6 February candidates announced
In recent months, the jury has assessed the entries for Logistic Manager of the Year and Young Logistics Talent. On Tuesday 6 February, the candidates for both titles will be announced.
