SSI Schäfer has a new CEO with effect from 1 March 2020. Steffen Bersch succeeds Helmut Limberg up, the current interim-CEO of the SSI Schäfer Group.
Bersch comes from GEA Group, where he was a member of the executive board since 2016. Since the start of 2020, Bersch was responsible at GEA for the Liquid & Powder Technologies, Food & Healthcare Technologies, Refrigeration Technologies and Global Technology divisions.
After a short familiarisation period, Bersch will take over from Limberg at SSI Schäfer. The latter was appointed interim CEO last summer, after Harrie Swinkels stepped down after 16 years at the company due to a 'difference in views on the further strategic direction of SSI Schäfer'.
Kay Mayland, head of the executive board at SSI Schäfer, says: "It is a great pleasure to welcome Steffen Bersch, a highly successful and internationally experienced manager, as CEO of the SSI Schäfer Group. Bersch has a wealth of experience in the strategic development of companies operating globally."
