Etos distribution workers get a 6.75 per cent pay rise. After nine days of strike, the drugstore chain has come around.
Etos logistics staff have been on strike since late December, first at the Beverwijk distribution centre and then at the Ahold-Delhaize headquarters. Trade union FNV and Etos still came to an agreement in the new year: Etos employees will receive a 4 per cent pay rise retroactively over 2019 and a further 2.75 per cent at the end of this year. The new collective agreement runs from 1 June 2019 to 1 April 2021.
FNV members have yet to agree to the new collective agreement. Until then, the strikes have been suspended. The union says it is satisfied with the agreements. Also because staff no longer have to surrender ADV days, something Etos had previously proposed. "For the first time since 2018, there is again a collective agreement result for employees. That is pure profit and a good basis for follow-up agreements in 2021."
