Screw wholesaler Fastbolt has purchased Jungheinrich PowerCube. This innovative compact bin warehouse has impressed with its unique space utilisation, maximum flexibility, high performance and easy physical and digital integration into the existing warehouse. The storage system will be located in Fastbolt's warehouse in Gronau, just across the border near Enschede.

On a floor space of just 480 square metres, the compact Fastbolt warehouse accommodates more than 18,000 small parts totes with a payload of up to 50 kilograms each. This particularly high storage density allows Fastbolt to easily integrate the Jungheinrich PowerCube into the existing warehouse, including the existing fire protection concept.

"By converting our small parts warehouse from pallet racks to the PowerCube, we optimise the use of our storage space and at the same time significantly increase the efficiency of our order picking processes," says Ekkehard Beermann, managing director at Fastbolt Schraubengroβenhandels GmbH. Five special PowerCube shuttles ensure fast storage and retrieval of small parts totes in Fastbolt's compact totes warehouse. With speeds of up to 4 m/s, the shuttles can simultaneously transport two totes, each with a 50-kg load, to three workstations.

The shuttles' lithium-ion batteries are temporarily charged at the respective workstations during operation, with the power collectors on the shuttle and the charging contacts on the racking system. As the shuttles move fully automatically under the PowerCube racking system, the compact Jungheinrich warehouse for bins offers the decisive advantage over other systems. For example, that the warehouse can be flexibly built upwards and also adapted to individual roof shapes.

Thanks to the scalable number of shuttles, the throughput of the Jungheinrich PowerCube can be adjusted as required when demand increases or the product range is expanded. By adding any number of tray shuttles, the system's capacity can also be easily expanded for future growth.
