Red je Pakketje opens a new distribution centre. The parcel delivery company's sixth location is in Arnhem. In this area, Red je Pakketje sees the number of customers and orders grow substantially.

The same-day delivery provider, headquartered in Arnhem, is creating 70 jobs in the Gelderland capital with the new location. Besides Arnhem, the company has locations in Amsterdam, Dordrecht, Eindhoven, Utrecht and Zwolle.

Red je Pakketje used a computer simulation to calculate where a new distribution centre is needed. This showed that the company could get the most green mileage from Arnhem. "The number of webshops in this area is growing substantially and existing customers are also sending more and more. Thanks to this distribution centre, Red je Pakketje is making a giant leap towards achieving its sustainability goals," says CTO Arjan van de Bos.

Red je Pakketje aims to deliver completely CO2-free in three quarters of the Netherlands by the end of 2021. Last year, the parcel delivery company received funding of EUR 12.5 million to electrify its fleet. This was used to purchase 210 electric delivery buses, the first forty of which were recently put into service. Up to three hundred additional EV vehicles will follow in the coming years, with which the company will deliver its parcels completely CO2-free.
