E-commerce platform Wish has opened its second European distribution centre (EDC) in Amsterdam. Wish has been delivering from its logistics centre since November 2018, but only announced it this week.
Wish competes as a bargain platform with players like AliExpress. The marketplace does not have its own stock, but stores goods from external sellers in its warehouses.
With a European distribution centre, Wish wants to be closer to the end customer and speed up the delivery process. Popular products are automatically stocked in Europe. In addition, sellers can pay to store their wares in Europe.
Amsterdam and Tallin
Earlier, the marketplace opened a logistics location in Tallin, Estonia. From there, Wish serves 18 countries. A second European distribution centre in Amsterdam thus followed at the end of 2018, where Wish provides fulfilment for 21 countries. Which countries those are is unclear. For example, a Dutch customer may receive his order from Tallin, while Finland is served from Amsterdam.
